Pregnancy is such an amazing moment in any women's life. It is a time of joy, excitement, and love which should be captured and treasured for days to come. It is also one of my favorite moments to photograph. It is important that you  feel comfortable and relaxed during your session. Which is why I like to answer any questions you might have prior to booking your session. To help you prepare for you session, below is a list of some of the most frequently asked questions.

When should I book?

The best time during pregnancy for a maternity session is between 27-32 weeks when the belly is nice and round. Every women is different and can carry differently, which is why the important thing is to book when you feel the most comfortable since some poses will require you to bend down and sit on the floor. Keep in mind that images take around 3-4 weeks to be edited. If you'll need the photos for a specific event or date it is best to book the appointment for at least one month or more before that event.

What do I wear?

I have a variety of dresses, crowns, fabrics and other accessories in my studio in different colors and styles. Clients are welcome to pick the dress that best suits their style for their session. There is no additional fee to use my gowns. The number of gowns you can wear depends on the package you choose. Nudity is optional and discreet, but it is totally up to you in how much you want to show.

Can I include my partner or other children in the photos?

​Many clients love to include their partners or children in maternity sessions to capture family moments before the baby arrives. Please note that the with the mini session only partners can be included. Both children and partners can be included with the deluxe session. 

 

What do I need to bring?

If you already have a gown or outfit picked out for your session, you are more than welcome to bring it for you session. Selecting the right underwear is important in preventing lines or patterns that will show in the final images. I recommend wearing nude or white seamless panties and matching bras. If you have any special props (baby shoes, sonograms, etc) that you want to include your photos, you are welcome to bring those as well.

How can I prepare for the maternity session?

Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and keep your skin looking great. Try to get a good night’s sleep before the session to feel refreshed. Also, avoid tight clothing or anything that might leave marks on your skin.

What kind of poses will we do during the session?

Maternity sessions typically focus on highlighting your baby bump through natural, flattering poses.We will guide you in comfortable and flattering positions. If you have specific pose ideas, let the us know.

Can I have an indoor or outdoor session, or both?

We offer both indoor and outdoor options. We will discuss locations and lighting based on the time of day and season.

Can I request special or custom backdrops for my maternity session?

Yes, we offer the option to create custom backdrops or use specific themed settings for your session. Whether you’re envisioning a floral arrangement, a dreamy boho look, or a personalized setup, it's great to discuss your vision ahead of time so the photographer can plan accordingly. We do not include fresh florals, though they can be added for an additional fee depending on the type of flower and quantity. We also have a selection of backdrops you can choose from. Be sure to share any ideas or themes you have in mind!

Can I include makeup?

Makeup is not included with your session fee. Our in-house makeup artist is Linery (@Lineyrimakeup on IG). If available, she can come to the studio for an additional fee ($125-$150) to do your makeup 1.5 hours before your session.
